Arthur Ginsberg's December 1, 2010 Executive Council Testimony

additional commentary by Timothy Horrigan; May 2, 2012

This video is courtesy of Chris "KingCast" King and was shot during the confirmation hearings for New Hampshire Chief Supreme Court Justice Linda Dalianis. (In New Hampshire, judicial appointments are confirmed by the Executive Council— a 5-person body analogous to a Lieutenant Governor— rather than by the State Senate.) The date is December 1, 2010, or perhaps a little earlier than that. The relevancy of Ginsberg's testimony to the question at hand was a little uncertain, but this is a good 8-minute version of his story.

I appreciated chairman Ray Burton's comment about Mr. Ginsberg being responsible for what he says in the hearing— becaue Mr. Ginsberg is one of several petitioners who (in my opinion unwisely) favor changing the "official opression" laws to make judges legally responsible for what lawyers do in their courtrooms.
