(Don't You Want) Sgambati to Love

One of the major characters in my epic novel The Forgotten Liars is named Persefone Sgambati. I named her after the poet Al Sgambati, but she also shares her name with New Hampshire State Senator Kathleen Sgambati (D-Tilton) from Senate District #4 (Alton, Barnstead, Belmont, Gilford, Gilmanton, Laconia, New Durham, Strafford and Tilton.) Like Tammi Honig, the heroine of the Forgotten Liars, she is originally from Detroit. Like me, she is a Democrat.

In October 2008, just before the 2008 election, a singer named Michael Berg (who works for US Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen) put out a YouTube video entitled, "(Don't You Want) Sgambati to Love." The tune is the Jefferson Airplane's "(Don't You Want) Somebody to Love."
