"The Stars Are Blind": the video
by Paris Hilton
(commentary by Tim Horrigan)

There should be a link to Paris's video for "Stars Are Blind" above.  If it doesn't work, email me at: paris.video.link.broken@timothyhorrigan.com

(I suppose I am just going to get more spam.  Oh well!)

It's actually a rather pleasant little song.

Thanks!
Timothy Horrigan

And this song is not unlike some other song:

"Stars Are Blind" is quite similar to UB 40's 1990 single "Kingston Town." On June 4, 2007, the same day Paris went to jail, UB40's music publishers finally sued her. (It seems to me that "Kingston Town" is itself similar to many earlier songs, but I digress...)

And just to complicate things even further:

A German techno group called the 89ers released a cover of "Kingston Town" in 2003 which opens with some kitschy travelogue footage of lovers rolling around on a tropical beach, even though most of the video takes place in a hockey rink. Paris's video contains some very similar imagery. (In all fairness, I should point out that the 89ers don't own a copyright on lovers rolling around on the beach. And there is no ice hockey in Paris's video— only tropical beaches.)
