Paris Speaks:

Paris Hilton's June 27 Larry King Interview

Commentary by Timothy Horrigan, June 28, 2007

There was a great deal of controversy over who would do the first post-prison interview with Paris Hilton. Figures of up to a million bucks were thrown around. In the end, she chose CNN's Larry King and appeared on his Wednesday, June 27, 2007 broadcast (her second day of freedom.)

There is no word on what she was paid, if anything. She began her interview by telling King that "I consider you an ikon and I really respect you." I missed the broadcast: one of my Second Life characters was dancing at Club Galaxy. But I do at least care enough to post some YouTube videos. (These are liable to be taken down at any moment: I will make an effort to find new ones if and when that happens — well, I will if I happen to feel like it.)

She wasn't able to bounce Larry King's Tuesday night guests: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Yoko Ono. But she did have enough star power to bounce Michael Moore from the Wednesday show.
