I am not sure what moved me to put this page together. But anyway...
IN CASE
ANYONE STILL CARES ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON…

…and
for whatever reason some people do still care.
In 2006, Sony BMG recycled a large number of old Michael Jackson singles: the "Michael Jackson: Visionary" series re-packages the deposed King of Pop's hits on "DualDiscs" with a DVD on one side and an audio CD on the other. This runs the gamut of his career as a solo artist on Epic Records, which began way back when he was extremely human-looking (and what a handsome human being he was!) and ended in 2001. As a human being, he may be a tragic figure— but as a performer he's as glorious as anyone (even his ex-father-in-law Elvis.) No one in pop music history has ever made records which sound better than Michael's. It's kind of baffling how someone so emotionally stunted — someone who seems to be totally clueless about how to be a human being— can make such deeply moving music.
The audio CD side of the discs include alternate mixes and/or other rarities. Interestingly, "Man in the Mirror" is missing from this series, as is "I Have This Dream."
The
Visionary series was originally released in the winter and spring of
2006 as individual singles, officially only in Britain and other
European markets. Sales were pretty good: not good enough to get
Neverland re-opened, but not too bad, either. Then, in
mid-November, an American vesion was released as a rather pricey
(list price $149.98) boxed set, entitled "Michael
Jacksøn Visiønary: The Videø Singles
."
The DVD side of the European DualDiscs were be PAL color-encoded and Region-Coded for Western Europe. Presumably the North American boxed set will be NTSC color-encoded and Region-Coded for North America.
The
complete list of the release dates of the Visionary singles (with
links to their UK

listings)
is as follows. I can't tell you whether or not you should buy
these records, or where you should buy them— but if you want to buy
them from UK
Amazon,
you
may as well buy them through these links:

My Hurricane Katrina page! (Immediately after the disaster, Jackson announced that he was working on a "Katrina single" whose incredibly huge profits would all go to charity. The single never came out.)
